It is very common for the original ignition coil plastic housing connectors to get brittle over the years and break. They typically break when simply trying to normally remove when you are servicing the coils or spark plugs. Once they break, they cannot keep the ignition coil wiring harness connected to the ignition coil when the engine is running as the can vibrate off. This can cause misfires and shorten the life of the ignition coil.
