Harmonic Balancers
A harmonic balancer (or crank pulley damper) connects to the engine crankshaft and reduces engine vibration. It often also serves as a pulley to the drive belts. A bad harmonic balancer will affect fuel economy and engine performance and may damage the main bearings and drive belts, potentially causing breakdown.
