Brand New Transfer Case Shift Motor
During installation, the shift motor should not be powered up before installing. If your truck failed in 4WD, simply turn the transfer case gear by hand or with a wrench to the 2WD position, then change the dash switch to 2-Wheel Drive. After you bolt up the motor, you can then plug in the connector. Most models will also require removing one wire from the old motor connector and installing it into the new motor connector. The electrical connectors open and close on both the old and new unit so this can be accomplished easily.
